Catchment Area

The doctors welcome new patients who live within our practice area. If you wish to register with the practice it is advisable where possible, to register families or people living in the same house with the same practice.  

If you have moved in with someone already registered with a doctor in the area, please attempt to register with their doctor.

It is of the utmost importance that you provide us with your unique NHS number (not your NI number), which will enable the practice to obtain your medical records from the previous doctor and not the records of someone with a similar/same name and/or date of birth.

Patients registering for the first time in the UK must provide us with the date you arrived in the UK. Without this information, your request to register cannot be processed.

If you suffer with a disability or condition that inhibits you from completing the registration documents, please give us a call and we will gladly help you with your registration.

You can also register in person by collecting the registration documents from reception.

Temporary Residents

If you are ill while away from home or if you are not registered with a doctor but need to see one you can receive emergency treatment from the local GP practice. 

You can be registered as a temporary patient for up to three months. This will allow you to be on the local practice and still remain a patient of your permanent GP. After three months you will have to re-register as a temporary patient or permanently register with that practice.

To register as a temporary patient simply contact the local practice you wish to use. Practices do not have to accept you as a temporary patient although they do have an obligation to offer emergency treatment. You cannot register as a temporary patient at a practice in the town or area where you are already registered.

Summary Care Record

The practice has signed up to take part in the Summary Care Record.  Information will be given to you when you attend the surgery to register.  If you do no wish to have a Summary Care Record you will need to sign an ‘opt out’ form and return it to the surgery.   More information can be obtain from www.nhscarerecords.nhs.uk or telephone the dedicated NHS Summary Care Record Information Line on 0300 123 3020

Named accountable GP

All our patients have an allocated named GP, which is your registered GP. If you wish to know who this is, please ask at reception.
