Practice nurses are qualified and registered nurses. They can help with health issues such as family planning, healthy living advice, blood pressure checks and dressings. The practice nurses run clinics for long-term health conditions such as asthma or diabetes, minor ailment clinics and carry out cervical smears.
Physician Associate
Qudsiah Anwar (f)
A physician associate is a crucial member of the healthcare team, working closely with doctors and surgeons to deliver comprehensive medical care. They are extensively trained to handle various responsibilities such as gathering patient medical histories, conducting physical examinations, diagnosing illnesses, providing care for individuals with chronic conditions, performing essential procedures, evaluating test results, creating management plans, and offering valuable health promotion and disease prevention advice to patients. While physician associates work under the supervision of a doctor, they are also capable of working autonomously with the appropriate support.
Clinical Pharmacist / Pharmacy Technician
Clinical Pharmacist – Ines Sealy (f)
Clinical Pharmacists are highly qualified experts in medicines and can help people in a range of ways. This includes carrying out structured medication reviews for patients with ongoing health problems and improving patient safety, outcomes and value through a person-centered approach.
Practice Management
Alex Jones (f)
Practice Manager
The practice manager is involved in managing all of the business aspects of the practice such as making sure that the right systems are in place to provide a high quality of patient care, human resources, finance, patient safety, premises and equipment and information technology. The practice manager supports the GPs and other medical professionals with delivering patient services and also helps to develop extended services to enhance patient care
Reception Team
Receptionists provide an important link for patients with the practice and are your initial contact point for general enquiries. They can provide basic information on services and results and direct you to the right person depending on your health issue or query. Receptionists make most of the patient appointments with the GPs and nurses. They also perform other important tasks such as issuing repeat prescriptions and dealing with prescription enquiries, dealing with financial claims, dealing with patient records and carrying out searches and practice audits.

GP Trainees
Eastlands Medical Practice is a training practice.
Our GP trainees (also known as ST2 or Specialty Training Year 2 doctors) are fully qualified doctors who are completing their specialist training in General Practice. They have already gained several years of hospital experience and work closely under the supervision of our GP partners. GP trainees can see patients independently, diagnose and manage a wide range of conditions, prescribe medications, request tests, and refer to other services when needed. All their work is overseen and supported by our experienced GPs to ensure high-quality, safe, and effective care for all our patients
Medical Students
We are a teaching practice and occasionally medical students may, as part of their training, be required to sit in with their trainer GP during consultations with patients.
You will always be asked if you consent to this prior to your consultation. If you do not consent, the medical student will not sit in on your consultation.
Health Visitors
A health visitor is a registered nurse who has received training particularly related to babies, children and pregnant women. Their role is to provide families with children under five years old with support and advice around the general aspects of mental, physical and social wellbeing.
